Wow - that's gotta be a record! (And helps explain how they can quote c. 90 day average turnaround time on applications ) Well done Jevahr, enjoy your freedom!jevahr wrote:Hi Guys,
I have a bit of hope for everyone today- I have just received my RC in an, as best I can tell, unprecedented amount of time.

I am American, and the spouse of an EU citizen exercising treaty rights as PhD student. Before we were married, I was denied entry which made every subsequent entry a nightmare, even after we were married. Also, because I work internationally and need to travel frequently, the process of surrendering our passports made it impossible for us to be together for the last two years. This fall, I cleared my schedule so I could work remotely, and planned to sit tight in the UK for a full six months. I was shocked when my Residence Card (valid until 2018) arrived today, just two months later.
I'm uncertain if this was a contributing factor in speeding up the process, but I did alert my MP and the European commission to the situation- especially after my COA disallowed me the right to work.
I hope this is an indicator of quicker turnovers for everyone from here forward!

I believe this is just a standard response for Unmarried Partners; have a look here: http://immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=114867 (Question 3 in the Residence Certificate/Residence Card section).Charlie101 wrote:Hello Dear,
Can anybody help explain this to me.
I applied for EEA2 RC last year as unmarried partner. Before this we were issued EEA Family permit twice(2times)before we came to UK together.
At the moment,my second EEA family permit is still valid till May 2013.
I recieved my COA yesterday stating that as unmarried partner, they cant CONFIRM MY RIGHT TO WORK.
But my EEA FAMILY PERMIT gives me the right to work as family member of EEA person as stated in the RIGHTS and RESPONSIBILITY of EEA national exercising treaty rights in UK.
I am not bothered about anybody employing me becuse i have already started a business and registered a company and self-employed derived from the rights of the EEA family permit.
Does this mean that i should stop my business activities or do i still have the right to continue working as my VISA permit is still valid under the EEA FP?
Im confused can anybody explain me more.
Thanks a lot.

I've also applied as an unmarried partner, and my COA also said they couldn't confirm my right to work - however I already hold a valid visa in a different category, that allows me to work.
Hi what i will say to you is you need not to worry the worst is they will send it back and ask you to use the new form which is against the law as the form is not compulsory, you can actually apply without filling any form and that does not affect your APPLICATION as they even stated it in the form that it is not necessary but it makes the application quicker which i think is b****ks and on the other handthey can issue you COA and send you the right form to fill i won't worry too muchNetopor wrote:Hi,
my application timeline
Application posted: 3/01/2013
Application received: 4/01/2013
COA: waiting
RC: Waiting
the problem is I've used EEA2 application form version 07/12 as I've check the night before I posted it. there was only that version!
My husband works full time and I've got student visa which will expire on January 30th, 2013 and I'm working full time with my employer wants the proof of my work condition. any idea please?
Question is " Should I fill the new EEA2 application form version 12/12 and send it to them?"
Thank you for all the answer if you can help me.
