Review request rejected

Post by headmaster » Sun Aug 22, 2004 6:54 pm

Hi All,

My review request has rejected again. But they were kind enough to explain each and every weak points. Experience letters should be self explanatory if we claim senior/specialist level expertise. Also they mentioned examples like size of company, hiearchy etc.

I had submitted application, without reading this BB, otherwise i would have easily pass the hurdle.

Afterall this is a luck too. One of my friend also tried for HSMP and for him, the caseworker contacted him for more detailed letter from employer to support senior level exp.

Fortunately, i got a job in between where they sponsered my WP. WP got approved in 5 days time and waiting for FLR.

Hi headmaster,

what do you mean by self explanatory. did they ask for submitting some details about the size of the company. Do you think that if you have submitted an evidence that describes the size of the company and your position in the Company Hierarchy, would have helpt to pass.

could you please shed some light about how to organize that Hierarchy.

Hi there!!

If it is not too much to ask for, could you please paste the reply you got from HSMP giving clarifications for your case being rejected. I am sure all us are very keen to know their point of view or what is that they look for.

Thanks,
Noddy.

headmaster,
What do you mean by refused your review request. They refused to review your application or reviewed it and gave the decision as REJECTED again.

Can you also share on how much time they took to revert back to you after submission of your review request .

And as requested by other members, if you paste the response from HO it will be very helpful to all.

ofcorse it will be reviewed and then rejected case(mini).
Headmaster, did they give you another chance for review ? Anyway you are benefited from the WP front, so you don't have to worry :) . By the way if you could also tell us the content of your exp. letter, it will help others a lot.

Does anyone know what should be in the company hierarchy?

should I mention positions and names of each employee or just the senior people?

My company has about 80 - 100 employees, does this considered as a large or small company?

In my case I submitted the organogram of my office in which it was clearly indicated my position ( Senior level ). The organogram showed only the position of each level, not the name of position holder.

Thanx.

Self-explanatory: HO will not contact references/employers. So reference letter should explain senior/specialist level in detail.

Time line: Only one month for review request.

Cut & Paste is impossible: sorry about that, because it is a hard-copy, but as quick note, they pointed out the weak points and given indications like how many employees in the organization/size of organization, heirarchy chart etc. Also for current employment, they expect a reference letter.

Raoms: there are 3 review chances. But i feel, it is better to resubmit with fresh documents. It is a much quicker process

Could anyone give me an example of a company hierarchy? I did not sent this document, so I am trying to get more information about it in order to submit such information.

Also do you think that I need to get a hierarchy for my department in the company or a hierarchy for the whole company (all departments)

Department of Trade and Industry Organogram

How big is the company? It may be more relevant to get one for a particular unit say Group Finance - advantage of a second organogram is it gives a comparative view of your own position.

the company has about 80 - 100 employees and a structure of 10 departments.

So you prefer to get a one for my department/unit.

Could you please clarify how I could give a comparative view on my position? Could be by showing the positions under my supervision!?

I would say give the structure for two departments one of which is yours - by comparative I mean that it will show your seniority being similar to those in sister units/departments. For example you can be the senior analyst in the strategy section but its relatively flat and you have 1 direct report whereas you can be a senior analyst in the finance section but you have 20 direct reports through a layer of reporting structures all the way to you.

Kayalami,

Thank you. It is now clear and ofcourse the one with 20 direct reports is better than the other.

Folks,
I am preparing for the HSMP application and am planning to claim points for senior experience.

The organisation I works in is an MNC ((Top 5 FTSE co.) and has a very flat organisation. The seniority/importance in our organisation depends on the size of deal being handled by the engagement manager (as we are in infrastructure buisness). So If I am handling an engagement for investment upto $ 350 Mn and am leading a team (not direct reporting) on that, will that be considered as a senior level experience?

Also If I draw out an organogram on a plain paper, is it admissible or considered. I report to a general manager who report to the CEO. On most engagements, I report directly to the CEO and there are no direct reportees to me.

In my earlier job, it is clearly said on the letter that I was leading teams on a nationwide basis for two departments. But that organisation is very small and unlisted company.

Any views/feedback/suggestions.

Thanks
