Try and contact your council and they can advice you. Also, you can try for a private ceremony.

got in contact council but

Post by krishciti2012 » Sun Feb 03, 2013 1:24 pm

I called council but they said this is the earliest date possible for ceremony is 13th march not before that 6 weeks after I got approval letter. so just confirming is there any limit , only thing mentioned in approval letter that we have to contact for ceremony within 21 days.

The 21 day rule is for contacting the council, which you have done. Don't worry if you have been given a date for 13th march for the ceremony.

As the HO says: "When you receive your invitation to a ceremony, you have 90 days to attend one."

My wife was given a ceremony date which was 2 months after receiving the "approval" letter!

She waited two months (still waiting now). Our council charges £170 for a private ceremony!
