Can I work in the uk - spouse visa?

Post by zeero » Wed Jan 30, 2013 7:03 pm

Hi,

I am here in the uk on a 2 year spouse Visa (NON -EU). I arrived in the UK in May 2012 and I was wondering if I am allowed to find work. I recently applied for and received a NI number.

I am finding mixed answers on the internet but the following .gov link suggest I am not entitled to work
https://www.gov.uk/legal-right-to-work-in-the-uk

Any help/advice appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.

Just one question though. The link you posted refers to Tier 2 whereas I have a spouse visa, Does it make any difference??

This thread is over a year old. Hopefully the OP will have found employment by now. :?
