I was thinking about involving my MP but I didn't. To be honest I don't think involving MP will do you any good as UKBA will take their time.

One piece of advice - don't panic and have patience. It will eventually come whether you panic or not so why not just forget about it and do you work as normal like I did..

My Timeline:

1. Current visa: TIER 1 GENERAL
2. Date of expiry of current leave: 29-07-2012

SET M October

Post by eagle_guy34 » Thu Feb 07, 2013 3:14 pm

My wife applied in October 2012 ILR (M) and biometrics submited 27 November 2012.

We just came home to find a card left from dx secure mail and rearranged delivery for tomorrow. I was expecting the confirmation of aproval letter to arrive first but that is making me wonder if it is something else from UKBA other then BIOMETRIC CARD. Anyone else experienced the same?

ILR RECEIVED

Post by Keepsmiling » Thu Feb 07, 2013 3:24 pm

Finally after almost six months.....
Thanks to all who contribute to this forum and for all the valuable information, it has kept me kind of sane during the process and kept me entertained at work!!
Unfortunately it also gives light to the unacceptable way that UKBA are processing the visas and I will be honest I would get so frustrated every time someone recieved ILR who applied months after me (Mine was not complicated)

Any way, I had originally posted mine as I had been advised through immigration consultants that because I had entered the country two months and three weeks after my Ancestral Visa was issued and I was applying prior to my qualifying five months that I should post it as late as possible. I had tried to look up any rules but all I could find was that the case worker MAY consider the time that your visa was issued towards the five year qualifying period.

I had also gone to an immigration session organised by my local MP Last friday but I doubt that had anything to do with my ILR

Type of application: SET(O) ANCESTRY
Date Applied: 08/08/2012
Type of payment: Credit Card
Date of payment: 12/08/2012
Date of the acknowledgement letter: 12/08/2012
Biometric letter: 17/11/12 (dated 13/11/12)
Biometrics done: 19/11/12
Date of approval: 04/02/2012 RECEIVED ON THE 06 (Only letter no Biometrics card yet)

Once again Thanks and Good luck to everyone who is waiting, and please everyone post your updates...

Date of the acknowledgement letter: 11/10/12(dated in the letter)

Baxx how are you doing, have you heard anything or did you call UKBA? It is getting a bit annoying that we both have not heard anything. My adviser sent a letter to UK BA with request to speed up my application as I have to travel urgently due to the death of my father.

Hi Justice,

God, I'm sorry to hear your sad news. In a situation like this UKBA should react quickly, I hope you hear the reply from them soon.

I have only heard back from my adviser 3 days ago that an email was sent to UKBA urging them to process my application already! When I hear anything this place will be the first to hear about it.

I am so sorry again for your loss. Please keep us posted so we'll know how UKBA reacts to this grievance.

Nobody has any idea so we have this forum!
:) :(
As far as we can see, standard cases for SET(M) are now taking 3 - 5 months, while SET(O) is taking 5 - 7 months, except for complicated cases. Some takes lot less, some takes LOT longer.

Good luck!

good news

Post by masoud_ahmad » Mon Feb 11, 2013 10:33 am

Hi,

I am silent reader of this forum.

Today I have received all my documents back and waiting for the Biometric card to receice. My time line:

Application: ILR (1 Applicant + 3 Dependents), was on Tier1 General (2+3years)
Date Applied: 06-07-2012
Vis Expires: 07-09-2012
Biometrics Enrollment: 01-09-2012
Documents Received: 11-02-2013
Biometric Card: Waiting

I have also sent letter from MP but looks like didnt work. Home Office took its own time.

I have a question if anyone can answer it please.
When my ILR visa start date would be on the biometric card. Does it start when my visa expires or does it start when my biometrics taken? Any idea please.
How long will take to receive the biometric card after getting the documents with passport.

Thanks

I am eligible to apply for ILR in June 2013 but i just read the new criminality threshold changes on ukba website. i think it is for citizenship but my question is weather it will affect me or not.

i received a caution in February 2011. Police told me its not criminal but im concerned it might be criminal for immigration purpose.
I was charged with malicious communications offence and was given caution. what i read on Home office website is as follows:

Cautions
3.5.5 As a caution forms part of a person‟s criminal record, when determining whether an applicant meets the "good character" requirement, caseworkers must take them into account. Where the application was made on or after 13 December 2012 a caution comes within the „non custodial offence‟ threshold. As such, where someone has a caution within 3 years of their application, it should be refused.

now this rule is for citizenship but when i read home office news updates it says new rules for ILR.

Will i get my application refused if i apply for ILR??please helppp

After writing to my local MP's, I got my passport/BRP back within 2 weeks of writing to her :-)

Date of application 14/07/2012
Biometric taken 17/11/2012
16/01/2013 -> I write to MP
a week later she informed me my case wasn't even handled by caseworker yet.
1/02/2013 -> I receive my passport back
02/02/2013 -> I receive my BRP permit

My local MP just mentioned that there is another 4 cases similar to mine (exceeding 6 month wait but has not even handled by caseworker yet!) and she admit that UKBA need more staff doing the application.

All the best to all of you who is still waiting.

Jess
