Given that it is a first passport, there could be misunderstandings/missing documents delaying it a bit; but not very long I would say.

Thank you for your information Jeupsy :)

Thats exactly what I wrote in a short form!.
Ah ok, I was thinking you need a more convincing excuse to live in another country (like job, project assignment etc..) You can basically go to Irish embassy in State (for example) and tell them that you're living there and register with them. That's all I guess

11 MARCH CEREMONY

Sure, you will be included in the March ceremony. Don't worry. You already sent your GNIB card to INIS and therefore no need for a renewal.

Hello everybody,
I applied for the citizen in April 2011 and am still waiting for them, most of my friends got their passport in last ceremony and in this one.
Is there chance to get the invitation now to attend in the next ceremony in march 2013?
I hope I attend to the next ceremony inchallah :)
Regards.

Thats all there is really!. Its a pain tho to be doing that annually!. Its like renewing your citizenship on a yearly basis.

Could someone please let me know that whether we need to send back invitation letter to INIS after signing it? Or it is merely an invitation?
Thanks

I don't have the new one yet, but based on the previous one I received, they ask to send back a form to confirm your can make it that day (which I couldn't last time).

I had sent e-mail (Citizenship Info <citizenshipinfo@justice.ie>) this morning asking if I will be invited for the 11th March ceremony and got reply :

"Hi

Yes, we have received your documents. I would expect that you will be
invited to the Citizenship Ceremony on 11th March next. Invitations are
due to issue shortly.

Kind regards

XYZ
Citizenship Division."

They are answering the e-mails.
Not waiting any more

It has been 14 months since I applied and this is the reply I got after I emailed them:

Your application is at an advanced stage of processing & you will be
informed of the Ministers decision in due course
