Tier-2 Dependent visa refused

Post by onlyfarhan » Thu Feb 07, 2013 11:01 am

Hi All,

We recently applied for my wife's tier 2 dependent visa so that she could join me and stay with me in UK. The application was refused with the following decision:

"You have indicated that you completed your marriage contract with your husband on 31 December 2012 in Karachi in Pakistan. You now wish to join your husband in UK. However you have not provided evidence to show that you and your husband have met and were both present here for the marriage. There is no evidence of contact or intervening devotion between you and your husband from either before or since the marriage. In view of this I am not satisfied that your marriage was subsisting at the time your entry clearance application was made and that you will live with your spouse throughout the period of your stay in the UK."

We have been together for over 5 years and have been engaged for a year before getting married.

I would appreciate if someone can guide us on what should be our next step? Should we appeal against the decision or should we file a new application? In case of appeal would it better to do the in person appeal or just the paper one?

We would be really great full if some one can guide us as there is very limited documentation and definitely doesn't give us a checklist of documents of include. We did include, our original wedding certificate, invitation cards, financial statements and of course passports.

Thanking you in advance.

Regards.

I would suggest to make fresh application by providing them the decent Photographs from your wedding and also show some contact by showing phone bill or any other way of contact like Skype
