You cannot swap it with anyone else, You will need to reschedule it if you need a different date.

You wont loose it unless you book the new one by selecting reschedule. It was the case when I applied in august for rescheduling. I would recommend checking the UKBA website.

swapping not possible... against the rule...
rescheduling is not that difficult... I had rescheduled my PEO appointment from 28th Feb to 6th Feb...

do cancellations appear at night or day time?

I mean if someone cancel his/her appointment for 1st March only then I will be able to book it?

it only updates at midnight.... I was looking for 2 weeks and everyday some slots within next few days came up... I was looking for Croydon...

New appointments appear at midnight, but cancellations or rescheduled appointments may appear at any time during the day. A lot of cancellations appear 48 hours before the appointment date as thats the last time you can cancel/reschedule an appointment yourself online.
