Volunteering is permitted if no work stamp on visa?

Post by mariamuk » Sun Feb 10, 2013 3:28 pm

Hello all,
I am curious whether volunteering (unpaid) is possible and lawful for those on student visas without permission to work?

I am on my 9th year and thought it would be great to show when I apply for ILR next year? Any recommendations?

If you are applying on 10 yr route, whether you offered paid or free service , or even no service at all, does not matter. Stick to what is asked for in the form.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

Don't break your visa conditions. Even unpaid or free work are not allowed. Why do want to start volunteering now, just before applying for your ILR.
