hi all , I would really appreciate if you could help me how to go about to become an irish citizen.
Myself Im from Bulgaria and my wife is Irish. We got married in 2007 and we live together since, we dont have children,yet.
Im I entilted to apply for citizenship?How?
And how long does the process takes?
Im working fultime since 2008.
I would really appreciate some answers.

Yes you are entitled to apply for Irish citizenship. Irish citizenship is a privilege and an honour not an entitlement.

In a straight forward cases, it could take between 6 months and 2 years.

How to apply? Well download Form 8 application form in INIS website and take it from there

summmer75, do you live in Ireland ad if yes for how long have you been here?

If you have been here for at least 3 years you should be entitled to apply for citizenship.

Some people got the citizenship in 10 months and other had to wait for 5 years, but given the improvement in waiting times lately, if your case is straight forward you should be able to get it within a year.

thank you for the replay. I downloaded the form and yes seems that I am eligible to apply ,im gatthering my papers now and hopefully i will be successful .
