fiance sponsor

Hi, This might seem really obvious but I can't seem to find a straight answer to it!
I assume from the VAF2 settlement form that the sponsor of the applicant is also the partner of the applicant. In my case, my father will be providing financial help. I understand that he will have to give financial evidence etc, but does he also need to give a copy of his passport certified, which as a sponsor I have to do
