Starting Divorce procedure while waiting for BC decision?

Post by Alish60 » Thu Feb 14, 2013 4:17 pm

M friend and me applied for BC on base of marriage at the same time, today She told me that she received a letter from county court stating her husband has applied for divorce. the date of the letter is 2 days after she applied for BC, she is extremely worried about her application.
She wants to know whether she needs to tell the UKBA about this fact or not?!!
If yes, will that have an effect on her naturalization application? we red on their website " you need to be married to your partner on the date you make the application" , but the question is what about after that?
She disparately need your advice please.

What documents she submitted for their marriage and partner passport or proof of partner is British citizens? If you were married on the day when you applied and divorce is not finalise yet so don't worry, you will get approval soon. It normally takes 2 to 3 months. Good luck

Thanks for the reply, she has submitted certified copy of partner's passport, marriage cetificate, her husband's naturalization certificate. Ncs did not keep the certified copy, they instead took a copy of the certified copy. Hope that is sufficient cos they ask for the original passport her husband won't be co-operative for sure.
What do u think though? A copy of naturalization from national archive+certified copy of passport, would those be enough?
