Please Help to guide on when I can apply for Naturalisation?

Post by Ahmediqbal » Thu Feb 21, 2013 2:21 am

Hello Dear,

A close friend of mine is in need of an urgent advice. Details of his immigration history is as under:

On Student Visa - 16 Months (09/2008 to 01/2010)
PSW - 11 Months (02/2010 to 01/2011)
Spouse Visa - 24 Months (01/2011 to 12/2012)
ILR(on premium service)- 02 Months (01/2013 to 02/2013)

Divorced his British wife last week on 13/02/2013.

He was advised that with total stay of over 4 years in UK (including 2 years on spouse visa) now he qualifies for naturalisation and even the divorce will not be a problem. May I request for your opinion please?

No. He is not currently married to a British citizen. He is not yet eligible under the standard requirements.

Thanks alot for the kind reply
May i ask your advise as when he will be eligible to naturalise if his relations with the spouse are not subsisting. None of the rules cover these circumstances.
