National Minimum wage must be paid.

thanks Tuli.

National minimum wage is £6.19/hour. (https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates)

So for 30hrs/ week (according to UKBA guidance) and 52weeks/year.

The total salary should be minimum £6.19 x 30 hrs x 52 weeks = £ 9,656.4/ year.

which is £ 804/month.

This is way less then what people earn. I mean i think the only guys who pay this salary are McDonalds to flip burgers ?

Anyone know if this salary will be acceptable by UKBA as this looks very low.

Yes, this is the requirement as per immigration rules for extension of this visa category.

Should be ok, but I think it wont be as easy as it looking.

for example if you have IT company than you wont be paying someone @ £6.19 per hour ??? technically ok because you are meeting the requirements of minimum wage but doesn't sound right.

so I guess these figures need to be more realistic.

That is true Rehan, you got to pay more than min wage.

Although this salary is actually paid to a lot of people including graduates who do errands in the office.
And in restaurant business etc.

You can get an apprentice for minimum of £2.60/Hr

Coming to the main question: Yes you can pay minimum wage and it all depends on the employee how much does he settles for :)

All the best

As we are running a company now. we are suppose to fill annual return and other taxes to HMRC and I think we will required to hire some professional Accountant for this.

So my question is will fees for these professional services will also get counter ?

Any fees paid for a service is part of operating cost, don't forget any asset you purchase or hire i.e. business pool vehicle is part and parcel.

Returning to the topic of remuneration, as long you pay the minimum wage you will be OK, whether an apprentice or older and experienced employee.
