Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards.
Haven't received it yet. On your approval letter, it tells you what to do if it doesn't turn up within 10 working days. You can either send an email or write to them. I must admit, I would send an email.

Waiting on the postman

Post by uchida » Fri Feb 22, 2013 4:44 pm

Hi guys,
I called UKBA yesterday, got through to an knee cap, who only said I have to wait for a decision, nothing more. I called back an hour later, and got through to a nice guy who told me a package has been sent to me, that has to be signed for. The package is coming via royal mail, and I should receive it today. He gave me a tracking number, which i tried using on the royal mail site, but all i got was: "Recorded Signed For™ items are only tracked after the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent first or second class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.
Information on your item is not yet available online" (WTF does this jargon mean?). The package didn't turn up, and i'm wondering whats going on.
I'm wondering if the package are my documents. The chap I spoke to at UKBA, couldn't give me a clue what was sent out. I'm so damn anxious right now, because i don't know if my application granted, or turned down...this is nerve-wracking.

NB: I applied in August, via Set M, and did biometrics in September. I called UKBA because my application has exceeded 6 months.

You have applied exactly 3 months AFTER me, in the same category, while I have no dependant...
I am still waiting and so are many others from June, July and August.
(((BIG sighs)))

UKBA truly sucks. They suck like no other at this moment in my eyes.

But, congrats! Wish your best new found freedom :)

Royal Mail signed for really is only trackable after the packet is delivered, so you just have to wait, but it sounds to me it is the one you've been waiting for!

Be patient, you may get it on Sat!

The only one there I can really answer is the Postal or PEO route. If you want a decision quick, go PEO, or it can take 3 or 4 or 6 months if you go postal. PEO appointments cost more and if you don't live near one it'll cost a bit to drive. (someone else may need to confirm this but I think the Birmingham PEO takes your money after you apply so if you're at all worried it could be a negative result, that may be the place to go.)

Again someone else may have a better answer than me for this, but you'll need to check which Public Funds do and don't matter. When I applied (Set(M)) we put that my husband got the child benefit (he opted out in Jan along with the rest of the 60k+ crowd) but I don't think that's seen as a Public Fund. The working tax credit might be, I don't know. You also have to provide proof of maintenance for 3-4 months leading right up the application date - payslips or bank statements. Not having a couple payslips and/or being in overdraft could possibly affect the outcome.

SET(O) Application

Post by sanks » Sun Feb 24, 2013 4:38 pm

Application:- SET(O) - HSMP 2 years + Tier1 3 Yrs
Application filed:- 28/08/2012
Application received:- 31/08/2012
Biometric invitation received:- 05/11/2012
Biometric done:- 06/11/2012
That's it. Nothing since then. Waiting, waiting waiting..

I have lost all hopes now and just keep laughing at our plight. The problem is that there is no one to raise voice for us. Anyway no point in saying anything. I am not planning on calling UKBA as I believe there is no point. WIll probably wait till end of March and then give it a go.

Sanks,

Our days will come...
I have not lost all the hopes, I am sure it's almost here, but I sure am annoyed with inefficiency from UKBA.
You never know if calling does or doesn't do anything, though. Some stories here suggest it does tricks occasionally.
(I haven't called them myself, yet.)

I am guessing it's not to increase the caseworker's salary or recruit more of them (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... vacancies/)

I sympathise with them who are overloaded with cases and yet the government cut their jobs

Btw, Oct applicant here

Another success story

Post by Jm5573 » Mon Feb 25, 2013 2:42 pm

I received our BRP cards this morning! I am thrilled though a bit angry with UKBA for taking almost 8 months to process the application. I am also surprised that we got the BRP cards even before the approval letter and our documents but I don't really care what came first! My prayer is for all of you still waiting to get some good news soonest.

My Timeline so far:

1. Current visa: TIER 1 GENERAL (3 yrs WP plus 2.5 yrs T1 PBS)
2. Date of expiry of current leave: 30-10-2012
3. Application form used for ILR: SET (O)
4. Number of dependants applying at same time: 2
5. Date application posted: 11-07-2012
6. Date application received at UKBA: 13-07-2012
7. Date payment debited: 26-07-2012
8. Payment mode : CREDIT CARD
9. Acknowledgement letter received: 31-07-2012 (Letter dated 31-07-2012)
10. Biometric letter received: 07/11/2012 (Dated 04/11/2012 (Sunday))
11. Date of biometrics Enrollment: 08/11/2012
12. Date of approval: Some time around 21/02/2013
13. Date of return of passport and other documents: WAITING
14. Date BRP ILR Received:25/02/2013 dated 21/02/2013

Ps. UKBA wrote on 8/2 to request for documents to show cohabitation and I sent them everything that had my wife's name on it (just short of the sink!) on 11/2... None of them had both our names but looks like that's not a problem...

Great to see a July applicant getting a result, hopefully Aug will follow soon (if UKBA ever comes to sense and start working through our piles in order.)

Congrats!!

Congrats...you're about the only one here that has had to wait nearly as long as I have been waiting (since June 9th!)

They said last week, that they had 'considered' my application...whatever that means, so I guess I have to keep an eye on the post.
