Confused acceptiblity Acdemic or General Types of IELTS

Dear All,

I have IELTS (Acdemic) with BAND= 7.0. No where in HSMP guidelines or other manuals it is mentioned that Which type of IELTS is required, As General type IELTS is required in AUSTRALIA and CANADA, So I am confused whter I need GENRAL IELTS for HSMP OR my Acdemic IELTS certificate will be fine.

Please guide.

Both general and academic IELTS are accepted in HSMP. The general version is used for immigration purposes whereas the Academic one is used when you seek to enter a university for further education.

Its fine that you have IELTS, 6.0 or above is required. But should not be more than 2 years old.

Someone have asked this to HSMP customer team This guy posted the email response from HSMP team in this forum (do your search, you will find it). It is clearly mentioned that both are acceptable.

Be aware that if you are for intial application, the IELTS must be less than 2 years.

Indeed, they accept both general and academic IELTS. I've just got my 4 years extension with academic test (band 8

).

Either of IELTS is acceptable.

I am going to apply from pakistan within a month. Here I have another query. Some of my frinds are saying that HSMP fee has been increased and now they are submitting 625 pounds in UK to file HSMP case.

Please inform if anyone of you have got something like this

I believe someone posted that the fees for HSMP will be 400 Pounds in April.

yes it is confirmed 400GBP or 400Â£ from 1st April, 2007 for HSMP.
