Court final decision on wage rule?

Post by relevated » Sat Feb 23, 2013 2:35 am

When will the final ruling on the £18,600 wage rule be declared? Wasn't it going to be some time in march?

I heard something about a court hearing in March and then some kind of review into the affect of the rule in April. MRN (Migrants Rights Network) site had information on this if I remember correctly, maybe you can dig it out.

TBH I wouldn't bank on immediate change.

It seems there is currently an all party inquiry into the impact of the rules

It will conclude its work in April

Who knows what the implications of that might be.

Personally I think the problems with the spousal settlement route run far, far deeper than just the £18,600 requirement. I can meet it if I apply in six months but I'm not going to enter a system designed to refuse me on any basis, however trivial and relieve me of a lot of money in the process.
