Early Extension and Applying Later

Post by kyborg99 » Mon Feb 25, 2013 2:41 pm

Hi,
Our (wife, child and mine) Tier 1 General visa expires Apr 2014. My wife is due with our second child in a few weeks.
We become eligible for ILR in Sep 2014, so we need a visa between Apr 2014 and Sep 2014.

I was wondering:
1. Can I apply for our extension now, before the 2nd child is born as that will give is a visa till Mar 2015 and we will apply for ILR in Sep 2014 anyways - the advantage in doing this is that we will only have to get a visa for the new born once - after our extension we will apply for the new born visa and he will get it same like us till Mar 2015 as well? - I will save £1160 this way.
Otherwise I will have to get the new born a visa until Apr 2014 like me and then renew him with all of us @ 1160 / dependant.

2. There is a section for dependants applying later which is around £200 cheaper - so if point 1 above is fine - can I just extend myself first @ £ 1500 and then my wife, my child and my new born @ £ 561 each?

Assist Please.

Thanks & Regards
Kartik

ukba has revised fees from 6 April 2013, so applying before is better anyways :)

Thanks, but am I allowed to apply this early i.e. 14 months early?

And what about the 2nd point - can I apply first and then let my wife, child and new born 'apply later' @ 560 each?

My Visa is going to expire in March 2014 and I am planning to apply before 6 April 2013.

I am under the impression that you can apply whenever you want.

Until any senior say it otherwise, I would say you can apply.
