Status while application is being decided?

Post by nafe12 » Tue Feb 26, 2013 5:30 pm

Does anyone know the exact rule/provision of Immigration Law that states:
If you make an application before your authorised stay ends, your existing immigration status will continue until your application is decided
I know that text is on the UKBA website, but I'd like to point to an actual rule, or something, to show my super bureaucratic employer.
Clicked through the rules, couldn't find it :(

Thanks!!

not sure about actual rule but text from UKBA http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ding-stay/

If you make an application before your authorised stay ends, your existing immigration status will continue until your application is decided, even if the decision is not made until after the end of your permitted stay. You can continue to work until your case is decided if the conditions of your existing leave allows you to do so.

If your employer is concern about working then above text does say you can work if existing leave allows you to do so
