Schengen visa for minor-English birth certificate attest

Hi,
Both me and my husband are Tier 1 General visa holders. We have a 4 year old kid. We need to apply for Schengen visa from french embassy for all of us for our trip to France in April.

We are Indian nationals living in UK. I have my son's birth certificate issued from Bangalore, India and this was acceped during the Tier 1 dependant application in UK. Do I need to attest the birth certificate (for my kid) by Indian embassy in UK. The birth certificate is in ENglish. Is this required for minors travelling with parents?
