New Passport

New Passport

HI All,

MY current passport expired and i have got new passport , DO i need to inform UKBA and update my new passport information(number) to update the bio metric card,

that can be done by the immigration officer when you enter UK from abroad but you will need to carry both passports, no need to separately inform UKBA that you have a new passport because old one expired

I don't believe that your passport number is held on the BRP nor that you have to carry your old passport with you as this does not contain any proof of your visa.

all info in the passport is encoded on the BRP

It's not the actual passport that's linked to the BRP though, the only link is who the BRP and passport belong to. A BRP isn't issued for any specific passport, it's issued for a person.
