Hello,

Dec 2010 - Tier 2 ICT. Currently on this.
Can convert to Tier 2 General category.

Is ILR possible after 5 years? When does the clock start?

Clock starts from Dec 2010 unless you have any other gaps or major absences

Yes, if you are Tier 2 – ICT Established Staff

No, unless you switch to Tier 2 (G)
Clock will start from Tier 2 (G) date.

So, suppose I shift to Tier 2 (G) in April, how long can I stay in the UK?

Also calculating 5 years from now, that makes in 2018. How do the rule changes post 2016 make a difference?

If the rules change in 2016 it will also be applicable to you as these changes are implemented from the date published.

Your initial leave will be either for period of engagement + 14 days or 3 years + 14 days, whichever is shorter.

Can't predict any impact of future rule changes, You need to check the impact as the new rules are published and guidance issued.

Last question, Tier 2 G is tied to one employer or you can work for any company? i.e. in that 3 year period you can work for different companies?

Tier 2 General is an employer sponsored immigration category, so you can only work for the employer who sponsored your T2G visa.

I am having the similar case as yours . Tier2 ICT in Sep 2010 .

Did you get some answers of your queries , Did you able to get the ILR ?

Have you already switched to Tier 2 General. is companies is having issue converting Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General ?
