Naturalisation application

Post by virgo2012 » Sun Feb 17, 2013 4:08 am

Hi
Can anybody suggest the following please, I have started to prepare my home work for my naturalisation application due on 17th July 2013

1- My ILR has been approved on 17 July 2012 , I had 3 penalty points on my driving licence in 2010 for the reason of crossing red light. Are these penalty points can harm my naturalisation application?

2- After approval of naturalisation , how long somebody can delay his appointment for ceremony?

1. What are your penalty points for? Was there a court case involved at the time?
if you appeared in court then you are convicted and the conviction needs to be spent. sometime you may have the points removed from your licence but the conviction can be still unspent.
2.from the date of the approval letter you have 3 month to attend the ceremony, if you don't, you have to reapply for naturalization.
wait for Senior members comments as well.
hope you find this helpful.

1- Don't worry, you are fine and will get approval without any problem.
2- You must attend your ceremony within 3 Months or you have to apply again if you did not attend within 3 months.

You can apply on 17 July 2013 for BC and if your wife has completed her 5 years here in the UK and got ILR with you? Then she can apply with you. Good luck.

Hi
thanks for reply my last query.

pls suggest after the completion of ceremony if I go out from UK for 6-7 months , will I be eligible to get UK passport after I will be back in UK?

Any ideas of penalties from Indian authorities for every visit to India on Indian passport after 3 months period of grant of UK naturalisation ?

once you are an uk citizen it doesn't matter how long you spend outside the country before applying for passport. infact you can apply for British passport in india .. although not recommended due to high processing times, etc
