on behalf of a friend

he is british ,and she is algerian born with a resident visa in canada

they had a religious ceremony ,but no civil marriage papers
she has been here on a tourist visa with 2 months left

how could she gain resident status here

You need to be a little more specific.

In which country were they married and in which church?
They want to settle in the UK?
How long have they been married?
