Postal Order or Debit Card

Post by alex87 » Thu Mar 07, 2013 5:00 pm

I'm debating whether to send my application fee in the form of a postal order or whether I should send in my debit card details?
I've heard stories of payments being rejected/blocked by banks so am wondering if it's safer, in that sense anyway, to pay using postal orders?

I was told to do either by postal order or cheque to be on safe side. Cheque can take longer than postal order.

Give the debit card, and also give a cheque with a small note saying that in
case there is a problem with the debit card, use the cheque.
Postal Order is expensive, using a cheque will delay 5 days, not more.

Yeah, the last time (when I applied for my PSW), I paid by postal order because I was told that the likelihood of the payment being rejected is higher when using a debit card, but as the fee for the entrepreneur visa is more than £1,000, I 'm not too keen on using postal orders this time.

Debit card has its own risks to get payment rejected as we have seen cases in the past.

Postal order is safest way but very expensive.

I would suggest Banker's Draft. Different banks charge different fees (between £10 - £20). i-e Santander Charges £10

The banker's draft is like cheque but its bank's cheque, therefore there is no chance to get payment rejected.
Note: I do not work as an Immigration Consultant, but my advice comes from experiences and my opinions are my own.

It's entirely ur choice really as long as you have funds in account debit card transaction won't be rejected unless there is a cap on amount of single transaction and you can check this easily with your bank.

I always paid by debit card and never had any problem

Regards
