Biometrics

Post by mymy08 » Wed Mar 06, 2013 1:55 pm

Hi there i'm new to the forum

My application FLR(O) was done back in 2008 and in 2010 was refused, then i had been waiting for a consideration which was considered early in January 2013. A letter stating that i have been granted a 30 month visa and a biometrics application form was included and 2 passport photos were requested. I filled in the form and returned with the photos which HO received on the 22 January. Now i'm still waiting for a biometric letter so i can have my biometric card. My question is has anyone been through the same pain of waiting for a biomatric letter after a grant?

mymy08 that was a long wait from 2008.

For the Bio, i had to wait 7 and a half month although my application is still under consideration. I suggest you chase it up as you are not waiting for decision, they should not inconvenience you any longer.

I am happy for you.

tunab2 thank you it was a pain. I think should just get in touch with my local mp once again! Its annoying. I'm married to a British citizen with 3 kids both kids are British, i overstayed a visit visa for those who would want to know about situation.

mymy08... after they refused the first time did you send off for a repeal for the application, or did you have to leave the country and come back? how long did you overstay as a visitor?

How long after doing biometric do you received back documents? Im doing a straightforward extension. I came home today and saw a royal mail missed you note but its address to my 10 month old daughter and the only ting we are waiting for in the post is our documents back so ive done a re delivery.. So im thinking 2 things its either my baby have to re do her biometric(re take her photo) or its our documents back....But at the same time in the back of my mind why would they send back our documents in my daughters name...

Good question, strange things do happen with HO sometimes. I do hope it's your documents back but erroneously sent with your daughter's details. I did apply for Zambrano under EU reg and got issued with COA in my dependent daughter's details

Hello friends,

I have one quick question hopefully someone can help.
When an application is lodged through a sollicitor, will the HO send any correspondent to the applicant directly or exclusively to the sollicitor.

The reason i am asking, is i a have notified the HO of a change of address via my sollicitor but i am worried that they might send some correspondent to previous address - After reading other posts i am worried that the HO might just do what i am worried about.

Could someone plz clarify?

Thanks!

They will make correspondance to the solicitor and then the solicitor will correspond with you.

Discretionary Leave to Remain in the UK - Extension

Post by Procrastinator » Fri Mar 08, 2013 7:46 am

Hello

I just came across your few threads on this forum. I think I am in the same situation as you.

I applied for a Discretionary Leave to remain in the UK in July 2009; my application was successful and I got my passport back in April 2010. I am not a refugee or a person who qualifies for humanitarian protection. Basically I have been living in this country since November 1994 with both legal and illegal stay. I applied for under 14years rule but my application was not successful for ILR and instead HO gave me DLR.

DLR was given to me initially for three years which now expires in April 2013.
Now my question to you is that do you know how long it takes to get a further 3 years extension if I apply towards the mid of March? I know I will be using FLR(O).

Also, do you know if there's a premium service (i.e. the same day service at the Public Enquiry Desk) for extending DLR?

Can you please share with me your experience, when you applied for an extension and whether you are still waiting to receive your documents back?

Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards

My application is not a extention, but if it is for DLR as well. I apllied on the 7th of July 2012 and i am still waiting for a decision. As Sanny said, it might take a while and i dont think there are any premium service available.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the message. Could you please tell me on what basis you initially got Discretionary Leave for the first 3 years? Also what form you submitted for extension? I am quite surprised, you said it's been 5 months, I thought for an extension you should be getting your passport back within a month. Whilst I understand, the extension is subject to 'active review' but the case worker knows your immigration background and for them, there is normally not much time required for further security checks to process your application.

Your biometric data has been taken so I can expect you will get your documents back shortly. I wish you good luck and thanks for prompt reply to my post. I should think 'extension' FLR(O) is a straightforward application provided that you were not into any criminal activity or 'public disorder' in the first 3 years.

Thanks very much tunab2 for your reply....

Please correct me if I am wrong but I was reading somewhere that for an extension you could apply at one of UKBA's Public Enquiry Offices.

Here is the link

http://www.livbrown.co.uk/blog/2013/02/ ... plications

where it says,

'If you were previously granted discretionary leave as a result of FLR (O) application, you can then apply for extension of your discretionary leave by using same FLR(O) Form.

· The application can be made by post or in person at one of the UKBA’s Public Enquiry Offices.'

I think FLR(O) applications normally takes less attention and cases are resolved more quickly with this type of application than those of HPDL.

extension or not extension is all the seem ! plus extension have to go trough an active review so they can take longer then fresh applications .

guys this topic we have done is for fresh applications based on article 8 ( fresh application of descretionary leave to remain ) based on British wife and British children , if you have 3 years LTR this is not the place to be , you can make new topic and call it ( DLR extension ) thanks .
