The most recent HM Revenue & Customs Self Assessment

Hi,

My friend is going to apply for citizenship in July 2013.

Which year could be most recent HMRC self assessment statement ?

I have got 2011-2012 SA302 from HMRC . Can I submit that ?

As for 2012-13 the due date to submit self assesment is 31st Jan 2014, she still has eight more months to submit it from due date of JULY .

My friend is going to apply for citizenship in July 2013.
I have got 2011-2012 SA302 from HMRC . Can I submit that ?
If your friend is going to apply, then your documents won't do :wink:

I think guide does mention about 'recent' self-assessment, so I'd assume they would want the last completed financial year which should be 12-13 in your (or you'r friends :)) case

as mentioned before someone doea't have to fill up tax return up to end of January 2014 for year ending April 2013. So I would say 2011-2012 should be good enough as it is last one.

The word 'recent' is ambiguous and does not clear if person should be submitting the last completed return or the return for the last completed financial year... it's up for interpretation
