Questions regarding Eutreaty non-eea Girlfriend

Hi all,

My girlfriend is moving to Ireland soon and we will be apply for a EUtreaty visa once she arrives here. To get her in ireland we will apply for a tourist visa, for the tourist visa she is required to have health insurance.

Can she buy for example aviva health insurance without a PPS number?

Is it correct to assume she can only get a PPS number after she receives the temporary stamp 4?

How long is the tourist Visa for?

She should contact a travel agency at the country she is currently residing. Health insurance for tourist is normally issued by some agent or some health insurance organisation of her country.

This is good for her as it creates more chances of her tourist visa being approved. After she moves to Ireland and obtain her PPS she can then chance her health insurance or not as it is not compulsory in Ireland

The tourist visa might work as well ... But just in case you didn't know she can also apply for an EUTR applicant visa (which would be the more "normal" visa to apply for in her situation).

The visa processing should be faster, free of charge, and they are not supposed to ask for bank statements, proofs of insurance or that kind of things.
However they will expect a proof that you are working or studying in Ireland, a copy of you passport, and detailed documentation of you relationship going back at least 2 years (which you will also need to apply for the residence card anyway).

Also the EUTR applicant visa will be multi entry for 3 or 6 months, so probably more convenient if you guys want to travel once she is in Ireland.
