EEA FAMILY visa (Dependant)

Post by cashmo » Fri Mar 08, 2013 5:38 pm

Hello.

I am a British citizen moving to live in
Ireland and
I want to bring in my non-
EU parents to live with me.

I was wondering if you all can
recommend
some good and
competent Immigration Solicitors in
Ireland?
Secondly, what are the requirements?

Regards

Are your parents dependent on you?

Your post would be better in the Ireland section. I've moved it for you.

I am not an expert on this.

I think you will need to show that they are dependent on you. This can be financial or in terms of needing elder care. If you want to show financial dependence you should start to deposit a regular sum in their bank account. I would recommend 350/euro per week. (They can send it back to you to a different bank account if you want). The idea is to show that you provide financial support. I have picked this amount because it is the amount at which an Irish retired couple are not eligible for state support. So if they have their own pension from home you can pay less.

This is just a suggestion - it is not based on any knowledge of the area.

Smooth seas do not make skilful sailors
