Student Probationary Extension

Hi,

I just want to know if there will be new Student Probationary Extension scheme for students arriving after 2004.

I came to Ireland on June 2005 on student visa. So, I wasn't qualified for 2004 Student Probationary Extension. My academic record has been excellent so far. I have done Bachelors and ACCA and now I'm working in a practice to gain practical experience.

I'm on Graduate scheme visa but I'm unable to apply work permit as my income is below than the minimum threshold. I have heard too many rumours that some students have applied the probationary extension even though they came here after 2004 and INIS office is reviewing their application. Some students are suggesting there will be a new scheme.

I would be grateful if anyone have information about the above scheme.

GNIB and INIS is sending every single student back to their home country e.g no more timed out extension or student visa if you are in the state more than 7 years.

One of my friends has been asked to leave the state and he didn't study at all. So, it's ok.

Can we write a letter to INIS and ask them to review our cases based on our qualification rather than time period?

I heard the news as well from my m8 about the extension of student came after 2005 but not sure how true is it coz i didnt read it anywhere
