Calendar month confusion

Post by King_tier1 » Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:10 am

What's your take on 12 months earning period of UKBA guidelines ?
According to guidelines ,
80. The applicant can claim points for previous earnings in any single, consecutive 12-month period during the 15 months immediately before the date of applying. An applicant may claim points for a 12-month period of earnings outside of this 15 months if they can show that he/she has been:
• away from the workplace for a time during the last 12 months because of a period of maternity or adoption-related absence.
81. All the periods we specify are calendar months (for example 14 January – 13 February).

So from a starting date say April 1st 2012 what's 12 calendar month range ?

I took a lot input from this forum and submitted my tier 1 extn this week. But this confusion remains !

How are you confused? It's simply 12 full months from the starting date. So 1 April will take you to 31 March the next year.
Do not send me PM's with specific questions - post question in the open forum so others can also benefit from the answers.

I was expecting some one like you to reply me. thanks.
In same sense 05/03/2012 to 04/03/2013 can be 12 months ?

NO

05/03/2012 - 04/02/2013 = 12 months = 336 days

Sorry Akan,

You are wrong. 05/03/2012 - 04/03/2013 equals 12 months

the easiest way to do it is to add one to the year and take it to the last day.

05/04/2012 - 04/04/2013 is 12 calendar months
05/03/2012 - 04/03/2013 is 12 calendar months
01/01/2012 - 31/12/2012 is 12 calendar months
25/05/2012 - 24/05/2013 is 12 calendar months

and so on...
