docs required for cohabitation...

Post by britishman_1425 » Tue Mar 12, 2013 6:22 pm

Documents i have in the joint name with my wife are as-

1. Yearly Council Tax calculation for the last two years
2. Rent Agreement in both our names.
3. few monthly electricity joint bills - (4 nos only of the 24 months)
5. Driving Licence of both of the current address
6. Last year electoral registration

Do I still need to look for some more docs as I have electricity bills for few months only.. or council tax and rent agreement are enough proofs..??

Maybe add bank statements. Also they don't need statements for all months in 2 yrs so take 10-15 docs from 3-4 sources. I submitted about 14 and case worker only wanted 6 of them.
Thanks!

My husband and I only had the Gas bill in our joint name, so I submitted two of those (one from 2010, the other from 2012), plus 2 NHS letters in my name, a bank statement and council tax bill and NHS letter in my husbands and our BUPA membership form that contains both our names and our kids names/dates of birth. That's it, and my BRP arrived today.

Generally more is better but my theory was that if they ask for 6, then that's all they should want (nice thought but not entirely true, I know!).

Statements and bills can be a few covering the 2 yr period. We submitted beginning, middle and end doc so 3 to 4 docs per source.
Thanks!
