Does the shop sell alcohol? And has the owner known you personally for 3 years?sh1981 wrote:I was wondeirng if a local shopkeeper I've been going to to buy fruit, veg and the occassional pot noodles would qualify as my referee for naturalisation application?
She pays VAT.
Looking at this list http://www.gov.im/lib/docs/cso/immigrat ... ferees.pdf I can see that we got:
Director/Manager/Personnel
Officer of a VAT
registered Company
However a shopkeeper wouldnt really qualify as a company would they? I mean technically they're sole trader but she does pay the VAT.
And what do they mean when they say you got to know them personally. I mean where do they draw the line, I mean you should have sort of regular contact with them or does it go as far as knowing the colour of your underwear?

She qualifies if she's a manager/director of a VAT registered company. She must have known you personally for 3 years.sh1981 wrote:D4109125 wrote:Does the shop sell alcohol? She sells fruits and veg and well pot noodles. Known my wife for ages, knows about me and my situation and well no, no alcohol. Does she qualify? BTW im on about using her as a 'professional' referee, ill use my neighbor or someone as the bog standard british citizen one.
i know but shes a sole trader! that's what im askin! you honestly think a manager/director of a VAT registered company would be selling fruits and pot noodles?D4109125 wrote:She qualifies if she's a manager/director of a VAT registered company. If you know the answer why ask the question? Being sarcastic only means you won't get an answer.sh1981 wrote:i know but shes a sole trader! that's what im askin! you honestly think a manager/director of a VAT registered company would be selling fruits and pot noodles?D4109125 wrote:She qualifies if she's a manager/director of a VAT registered company. I think the op is trolling.cobra wrote:1. I do not understand why are you stressing yourself to get referees? why can`t you just get anyone with a profession who knows you at least 3 years to sign it. In 2011, we had referees: 1 butcher and and 1 off license salesman to sign my wife AN form and kids MN1 Form. To be honest with you, my wife and 2 kids were granted British citizenship.
2. I recently submitted my own AN Form 2 weeks ago.
My referees are:
Retired Home care
Asylum seekers Social Worker
I am not here to troll. I`ve got better things to do than provoking other members. I was giving this info base to my experience.D4109125 wrote:I think the op is trolling.cobra wrote:1. it wont be at ncs, it'll be by post, do i need to send brp.?D4109125 wrote:Yes, if using the NCS, it will be a copy of the BRP.
no on the contrary, you need to learn manners and stop deleting peoples threads. and keep replies to pm's in pm's. anyway thanks for the reply though had you NOT deleted my original thread and directed me to this irrelevant old one, perhaps someone else more knowledgable might have answered it. stop misusing your little authority and leave peoples threads alone.D4109125 wrote:Yes or a certified copy. On a side note, learn some manners when sending someone a PM.
sh1981 wrote:there is a ques on the AN nationalty form that asks when i got ilr.
did i get ilr on day my spouse visa exipred or did i get ilr on date of issue on the brp?
so what happens to the months between end of spouse visa and issue of brp...do those months not count towards anything?Amber_ wrote:How many times do you need to be told to stick to this thread?
You are granted ILR on the day you receive the letter stating so. However, for ease most people go by the date of issue on the BRP.
