When was your visa applied for? Also, read the sticky about ICT to T2G.

first you need to find a sponsor that is willing to sponsor your tier 2(g)...then next steps.

My friend got his Tier 2(ICT) on 7 Apr 2011, i believe only the application date is taken in to consideration which will fall much before 6th Apr 2011, am i right?
-HSMP(2008)->Tier 1(2009)->ILR(2013)->Naturalisation(2014)->OCI(2014)-

Hi,

As far as i'm aware of, the thumb rule is -
If the first entry clearance into the UK was before 6 April 2010, then ONLY you're eligible for ILR and for entry clearances into the UK before 6 april 2011, then you're eligible to switch to tier2 general in-country, but not to ILR.

Mods/Experts, pls advise.

what does entry clearance means from when visa starts or from when i was called for biometrics or when i have applied the application.

Hi Thanks for replying. It means i am eligible to switch into Tier 2 General from UK.
IF i switch into Tier 2 General after how many years I am eligible to apply ILR.
Kindly help me in this regard.

Hi All,

I am also in a similar position. Where I on ICT since last July, and want to shift to Tier 2 G. As I understood from other posts in this forum, one cannot shift to Tier 2 at all, because when we apply from home country the cooling period triggers.

Request Guru's to please clarify and help in confirming if this is correct.

Thanks in advance
