On my visa under Type column HSMP reference number is written by hand after printed text 'VISA HIGHLY SKILLED MIGRANT PROGRAMME'.

The members who have got visa please let me know whether they too have hand written HSMP reference number on their visa or not.

Thanks & Regards

I asked this question because on visa (other than HSMP) there is printed text 'Work Permit - <number>' under Type column.

Hi Pravtech,
Still i am preparing following things:
1) Affadivit stating parents will help financially, if required during my stay in UK.
2) Asset Valuation through a lawyer for liquid and fixed assets.

What is the status at your end ? Have you already given your docs to VFS ??

Hi Pravtech,
I am planning to travel alone initially, so having around 4 L in my bank account for entry clearance. I have money borrowed from friends and relatives to show the bank statement during EC. Will that do ? How are you managing this criteria.
Cheers,

EC Querry

Post by nnj10 » Fri Mar 23, 2007 12:48 am

Hi All,

I am planning to apply for the EC by next week.
I have following questions on filling up the VAF-1 form.

1) What type of visa are you aplying for?
There is no mention of HSMP Visa. Should I put it under others and specify it as HSMP visa?

2.10) Is it your first passport?
My wife has a second passport after change of name to married name
Should I just write "NO" or do I need to provide the old passport too along with the EC application?

3.5) Is your spouse/civil partner travelling with you? (If yes, please note that he/she should complete a separate application form)
i. Yes, on my passport !
ii. Yes, on his/her own passport !
What should I write? my wife is travelling with me as HSMP dependent visa holder. Should I write it as second option on her own passport?

5.1 How long do you intend to stay in the UK?
What should be the answer?
2 years (which is the visa validity date), or what else should I write in?

5.3 Why are you going to the UK?
What should be the answer?
Should I just say "TO LIVE AND WORK IN THE UK"?

5.5 Do you have any family or close friends in the UK?
I have a cousin of mine in the UK, should I write his name, or is it not required?

5.6 Please give the full address and telephone number of all the places where you will be staying during your visit, including
hotels.
If I provide the HOTEL BOOKING, will that be enough?
As I dont know, where shall I be living, after I get the job.

6.7 What is your monthly income from employment?
Is this the amount in INR or the equivalent GBP?

7.2 Please give the name, address and telephone number of your UK employer.
What should I write-in, if I dont have any job in hand yet?

7.3 Are you applying to go to the UK as a work permit holder?
Yes or NO? for HSMP Visa?

Any response to the above, will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
NNJ10

Medical Examination for EC

Post by nnj10 » Mon Mar 26, 2007 4:28 am

Hi All,

The requirement of Medical Examination for the HSMP Visa is not quite clear. I read many posts, in this thread, where the BHC/BE did not ask for any medical examination. But if you visit the http://www.vfs-uk.co.in/, the pop-up, says the following:

"MEDICAL EXAMINATION FOR HSMP/WORK PERMIT APPLICANTS

If you intend to travel to the United Kingdom to work in either the food & beverage industry, in the healthcare industry, or under the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme, you will need to have a medical examination before your visa is issued. This procedure will take an additional 12 working days, so please allow plenty of time for your application to be processed. For more details please visit our website www.ukinindia.com"

Can anybody who applied for HSMP visa very recently in BHC, New Delhi can confirm about this requirement, whether they were asked by either VFS or BHC to undergo any medical examination or not.

I am not going to work either in the F&B industry or healthcare industry.

Reply Awaited.

Thanks,
NNJ10

Dear Freebirds,

U can contact directly the VFS office where u submitted the form.
Most probably u would be asked to take the medical test and therefore u need to collect the medical form from the vfs office.

Thanks,
Raghu

Hi All,

I have few queries reg EC, as follows :-

1) Can anybody give me inputs if while submitting docs for EC, they ask for the original of 10th and 12th Std Markscards?

2) Do they ask to take up medical tests? If yes, does it delay the processing time?

3) How much bank balance is required to be shown to be on safer side?

4) In accomodation letter, what should be the duration (length of stay) mentioned?

Waiting for your valuable inputs.
Regards,
Debjani.

Hi FreeBirds,

I would suggest u to do 2 things:
1) Send a mail to British High Commision of Chennai stating query of delay in the processing time.
Mailidid for chennai is: bdhcchen@airtelbroadband.in

2) Also go to the local VFS office and try to get status with them.
Me suggesting u this option since one of my friend was caught in the similar situation as urs and my frd had to collect the medical form local vfs office which the local vfs office never contacts the applicant.

Try these 2 options seriously. U would definitely get to know the status of ur app within a day.

Thanks,
Raghu
