tier 1 general appointment cancellation

Hello,

I have booked my appointment for 28/03/2013 9:00 am liverpool. I'm planning to post my documents.

I'm trying to cancel the appointment but it's asking me to cancel by phone as it is less than 48 hrs.

do I definitely need to cancel the appointment or shall I ignore it.

please advise.
