Why the Maintenance letter really needed?

Post by mari.vasu » Wed Apr 03, 2013 10:31 am

UKBA

In Tier 2 Policy guidance (version 12/2012) Page 31 of 59
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... idance.pdf
says

Documents we require as evidence of your sponsor certifying your maintenance

154. If your sponsor certifies maintenance , this must be confirmed on your Certificate of Sponsorship

Question is

So , for an In Country applicant. After ticking in the mainteance in the Certificate of Sponsorship Certificate

Why maintenance letter needed ? I could see too many people talking about Maintenace letter

Hi,

154. If your sponsor certifies maintenance , this must be confirmed on your Certificate of Sponsorship ==

in your COS it has to be Ticked, and after, a final printout will come, that is enough, no need any separate letter as i know.

Guys is it mandatory to keep a letter from employer about maintenance of fund I have already applied for the visa and given my biometrics. I have provided a letter from my employer to UKBA confirming my job offer also in the COS my company has ticked the option to maintain funds.

Eagerly waiting for your replies

You must ensure that your CoS has 'Y' @migrant maintenance

thats all you needed

Wish you good luck

Hi

Pls see:
If you have an A-rated sponsor which is certifying that they will maintain and accommodate you, if necessary, for your first month
of employment, this must be confirmed on your certificate of sponsorship. Evidence of prospective earnings should also be
entered on the certificate of sponsorship.

A letter from an A rated sponsor certifying the maintenance of a Tier 2 migrant is NOT an acceptable method of certifying your
maintenance.

Section: Maintenance in the UK

I guess the letter from the sponsor is not a requirement as long as they have certified the maintenance for the migrant in the CoS by ticking the option to 'Y(es)'.

Could anyone please confirm it?
