Ceremony invitation received too late

Post by jagait » Thu Apr 04, 2013 10:51 am

Hi all,

I received my invitation to ceremont letter on 2nd April. The letter was dated 12th feb and never received any letter from the council.

I contacted the council on 3rd April to book ceremony but they spoke with Home Office and advised that the Certificate is still with HO and the invotation has been sent out in error. Now I am clueless as to what to do.

Any opinions are welcome. Thanks.

Did you receive a letter of approval from the UKBA? If it was sent in error then they should send a new one when it's time. Give the ukba an email and query it,

I applied via NCS so did not get an approval letter. It was invitation letter only.

The invitation letter I received was from HO. I haven't received anything from the council. I spoke to them to arrange ceremony and they said the certificate is still with HO.

And trust me I have tried phone numbers, email addreses to no avail.

I have read a response from ukba saying that they have forwarded this email to the relevant caseworking team for consideration.

I would not worry about missing the 90 days. The HO can extend that in special circumstances and in your case it seems that the 3 months didn't even start as a decision hasn't been made yet.
