i'm afraid u need to send new ones ,i've read recently in this forum i think in the thread * General discussion after BC and Passport application*..i'm not sure, someone had been asked to send new pictures for his passport application and had to send a new one..i don't know how they find out but they did and it just delayed his application,so what i suggest is u might take new ones and then send them,if u want to take the risk,it would just delay your application.
No I dont think there has to be a different photo for naturalisation and passport application. But it has to be taken within certain time frame e.g 3 months.

i did not say the picture has to be different for naturalization and passport application, what i said is they ask u to send a RECENT picture for each application u make,so if the OP sent an application for naturalization 3 months ago,its more likely that they will refuse to use the same picture for his british passport because they are 3 months old,and they always ask for recent picture specially for the passport.

can we just post total timelines- when the process is finished? It is hardly useful information to learn that you applied today and every other date is 'TBA'.

Considering Easter was in there, I think that's pretty quick turnaround so far - less than 10 working days to interview letter. The interviewer thought it would only be another week to receive the passport, will update when it comes through.

Update - Arrived two working days later. Impressive service!

I see your point, but I think most people go back and edit as they have updates? That certainly seems to be the case in the citizenship application thread, I haven't read this one as much.

question

Post by alex_ro » Fri Apr 12, 2013 11:25 am

Hi guys,

Under documents required for Passport application it is mentioned:

"Born outside the UK
You have a certificate of naturalisation or registration

You must send:

- your naturalisation or registration certificate
- the passport you used to come into the UK or foreign passport you’re included on"

I would like to ask the following (perhaps one of you guys can help):
as it is stated I can send with my application the current passport OR "the passport you used to come into the UK", would it be possible to send the passport i had when entering the UK (was in 2003, passport was valid until 2004)- which is not the one i am currently using for travelling?

The reason for asking is that I do a lot of travelling with work at the moment and would need a passport for travelling while still waiting for the British one.

Thank you for your advise.

'you must send us all uncancelled passports with the application'

You will need to send it. I am in the same boat, sent mine in on Monday and travelling on May 1 . . .hope I at least get my old one back by then.

I disagree. My wife applied on her latest passport which included her ILR stamp, but did not include any of her previous stamps, including the one she came into the uk with first.

you only need to send your passport which has the ilr stamp on it.

question

Post by andie_83 » Wed Apr 17, 2013 11:47 pm

Hello everyone,

I was granted ILR today but waited for 9 months because of the mess at HO. I know some people is applying the rule of "apply for citizenship 15 months after you sent for your ILR application" as the delays are HO fault.

Can anyone in here confirm this is correct and HO will allow me to apply before waiting 1 year? I applied for ILR under the 10 year long residence rule on 22-07-12 and just got it approved yesterday.

I do not mind waiting and I am skint, yet, this information would come in handy in case I get the money or the urge to speed the process.

If anyone has applied under this circumstances and could comment would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I received my passport yay!! Opened it checked all the details were correct and they were. Okay after living here for circa 10yrs the immigration battle is over, but to be honest the excitement died down in minutes. Almost felt like payday. You expect to get paid after working all month so no need to do cartwheels over it is there? I guess its a different feeling for those who are able to get over the line in 3/4 yrs.

Ah well its all good so lets leave it there. Good luck to you all and long live immigrationboard! I'll still chip in to help from time to time like we all do.

Ciao.....Its the hsmpengineer signing off

I have seen that almost all of the applicants for Passport have received their invitation for interview the same day/the following day of receiving the docs back but I still haven't received mine. Not sure what's happening.

Any similar experiences?

I haven't received my supporting documents so far. Today is 5 days after the interview letter. I paid 3 pounds security delivery fee for my supporting documents returned but I didn't put any prepaid envelope with my application form and my documents together(I thought I didn't need to). I am worried about my documents(original passport and naturalization certificate). I hope they are not lost. Anybody has got the same problem?

Thanks in advance for any reply.

My timeline is identical to yours. I just got my docs back yesterday via secure delivery. . . the same day i had my interview and the same day my interview confirmation letter arrived. No need to provide an envelope.
