debt while applying for naturalisation

Hi just applied for naturalisation,i have a £200 quid debt phone bil will this affect my application? Thanks [/list]

No, providing you don't have a CCJ. Make sure you've arranged a repayment even if it's just £1 pcm token payment as you don't want a CCJ.

Oh dear,i received a letter from a 3rd party collection company,does that mean its a ccj?

Not necessarily the creditor will sell on the debt. Search http://www.trustonline.org.uk/ to see if you have a CCJ. How old is the debt/when did you make the last payment?

the debt is from december 2012 when i made the last payment :-(

Send them (3rd party) a financial statement (see http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/) and start making repayments even if just £1 per month. Search for the CCJ, if non registered you're fine. I assume you have no other debts in default?

its the only debt ive ever had and its stressing me knowing it cud affect my application

oh and the other thing ,the letter doesnt site a ccj but says a doorstep collection agency will be instructed to visit my home address,does that mean ,its gone way past a ccj and now a very serious matter
