Problem with date of issue on BRP - Urgent !

Post by muditmalhotra » Thu Apr 18, 2013 8:49 am

Hi All

today I received my BRP and passport back, the date of issue on the BRP says 16 April 2013 and valid till 16 April 2015

My concern is - my initial grant was valid till 20 April 2013 then why did I not get it till 20 April 2015. I know it sounds only 4 days but in my case these 4 days may make a lot of difference..
please go through the dates below

Date of initial Application - 23 March 10
date of initial approval - 20 April 2010
date of Entry - 16 July 2010
date of expiry of initial grant - 20 April 2013
date of application for extension - 26 March 2013
date on extension - 16 April 2013
valid until date on extension - 16 April 2015

Since I entered UK within 3 months of initial grant, I can calculate those 3 months in my calculation of period for ILR. 3 months from my entry into uk was 16 April 2010. and my current leave expires on 16 april 2015 which practically leaves no buffer to apply for ILR

My questions are --

1. Can i ask ukba to correct the date on BRP to end on 20 April 2015 ?
2. In my case can I apply for ILR 28 days before my extension expires ? and if so, how will my date calculation work ? will I be eligible to apply for ILR without any further extension ?

I would be grateful if anyone can guide me on this as, if needed, I need to contact ukba with in few days.

Thanks in advance.

Look at this thread it is a new system UKBA operated recently without any public announcement and in view of many Tier 1 G holders it is fair!!!!!!!!!
