Tier 2 GENERAL DEPENDENT Application experience

Post by hershey14 » Fri Apr 19, 2013 10:27 am

Hi all,
First of all I want to thank everyone on this forum for helping each other out... I was finally able to get my Tier 2 General Dependent Visa. I would like to share my experience so it can help others who are in the same boat...
My case was very complicated as I had been living in USA since 1999....(so Immigration history in USA didn't affect my UK visa) came to India in summer 2012 ... got married in Nov 2012.... Filed my first application on Feb 6 2013. My first application was refused on Feb 25th 2013 due to inappropriate maintenance funds. I appealed the decision on March 10th. Along with the appeal I also made a new application on 13th March 2013 as I read a lot of post stating that appeals can take a long time.
I received my appeal acknowledgement from First Tribunal on 25th March 2013. It stated that ECM has till June 10th 2013 to respond(ECM review).
In the meantime my new application got processed and I received my passport on the April 12th 2013 with the stamped visa....

Thanks a lot for all your help guys and if anyone has any questions regarding this category visa feel free to contact me.....

By the way This was all at New Delhi Application Center, India

Post by maverix » Tue Apr 23, 2013 4:38 pm

Hi

With regards to your marriage certificate.

1. Is is a certificate from a religious body like temple or church. Or is it from the marriage registrar?
2. Did you have your marriage certificate attested by some external body like the Ministry of External Affairs.

Thanks

Hi hershey,

Congratulations. My partner applied for her dependant visa from the Philippines on the basis that we have not provided evidence of our relationship and have been given the right to appeal. Where did you send the appeal form? we are not sure whether to send this in the pHilippines or UK and who can be a representative?

I would appreciate if you could please reply as we only have 28 days :( thank you.

Hi,

What evidence of relationship did you submitted? Did you submit everything that you submitted the first time to the Tribunal? e.g. COS, bank statement as they denied it based on lack of evidence of relationship.

You tell the fact. Yes she has traveled.

Does she need tb result
The TB result is valid for 6 months. If she's spent 6 months after going back to India, she will have to take a new test.

Do I need to put my pay slips for support for funds, as my company is giving the maintenace letter.
if your company is providing the maintenance letter, no need to add payslips.

Original the better. However, I've heard a good quality scan for the maintenance letter (provided it complies to the format mentioned on gov.uk) also works.

Can help me regarding this
thanks
