I am in similar condition, it is been more then 6 weeks since fees was taken but no acknowledgement letter. I have also tried to contact via email but no reply, there phones are with machines only no more human on the other side.sulabh wrote:Eligibility criteria: 5 years + 1 year ILR
Method of application: Postal
Date of application:28/03/2013
Date of receipt by UKBA: 29/03/2013 (Checked Royal Mail Tracking)
Date of debit of fees:01/04/2013
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: still waiting
Date of receipt of approval: N/A
Date of Ceremony: N/A
Now my questions is that even after the money being debited 1 month back, I am still to receive the acknowledgement letter, and when I tried emailing them, I got an auto email saying it can take upto 6 weeks in generating the acknowledgement letter. Just wondering if anybody else is also going through the same phase.
It is a little unnerving waiting for even the acknowledgement letter for a month now.
Thanks in advance

Depends on the section of the application form you filled. Point of correction, to qualify under the 5 yr residence rule, you must have ILR issued in the last 12 months prior to your application. For the spouse of BC, you do qualify but will need to send your partner's passport. they might request this or you can call them before they make decision.
As of the ILR being issued in the last 12 months!! I couldn't see it in the requirements, can you please quote where did you get this info from?? man you got me worried.
do you know of the number to call them?
Thank you for your input
I have put in my initial thread that I have ILR for 3 1/2 years, that means that I am free from any immigration time restrictions since 2009.johnwray29 wrote:http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... uirements/zeustheman wrote:I think the application form is the same and the only difference I could see is if you are spouse of BC is that you only need to provide 3 years of residence history and presence in the UK.johnwray29 wrote:@ Zeustheman

specifically the section below:
Immigration time restrictions
You must be free from immigration time restrictions when you apply for naturalisation. Unless you are married to or the civil partner of a British citizen, you should have been free from immigration time restrictions during the last 12 months of the residential qualifying period.
If you are free from immigration time restrictions, there will probably be a stamp or sticker in your passport saying that you have indefinite leave to enter or remain or no time limit on your stay. But you may have a letter from the Home Office saying that you are free from immigration conditions. See The documents we require for naturalisation applications for details of how to prove you are free from immigration time restrictions.
When I came to NCS, the officer told me the fee will be debited from your account within two weeks, usually. So, just be patient.Peterpan81 wrote:Does anyone know how long does it take for the money to be debited?
I applied 25/04
UKBA received on 26/04
I have called the bank just in case they blocked the money because it is £874, but they mentioned nothing has come through yet from ukba
Thanks
I am the same as you Sulabh. Applied on 26th March, fee debited on 7th April 2013 and no acknowledgement. Still waiting !!!!sulabh wrote:Eligibility criteria: 5 years + 1 year ILR

Agree your conclusion regarding the slow processing for whom submitted applications after late March.bristolzh wrote:Eligibility criteria: 6yr EEA (with registration certificate)
Method of application: NCS South Gloucestershire
Date of application: 21/03/2013
Date of receipt by UKBA: 22/03/2013
Date of debit of fees: 30/03/2013 (Easter Saturday)
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 6/04/2013 (dated 30/03/2013)
Date of receipt of approval: 2/5/2013 (dated 22/04/2013)
Date of Ceremony: TBC
I though I’ll share what I’ve worked out following others’ posts:
- Debit of fees is about 1 week after UKBA received the application
- Acknowledgment letter is issued on or around the day when the fees were debited
- From when the fees are paid, it will take 2-3 weeks to the approval
- Both acknowledgment letter and the approval letter will arrive 7-10 days after it is was dated
- If you do apply by post (and not NCS), and provide Specially Delivery envelope, you may be able to reduce to 2-4 days the above waiting times, however the council may not receive faster your certificate and you’ll have to wait a few days before the ceremony can be arranged.
- When I’ve submitted my application it was a busy period (before the fees went up) therefore it was a long(er) processing. Others waiting and who have submitted after me, may need to wait even a bit longer.
- Obviously, the above is times are for straight forward applications. For example, my credit card blocked the fees, but I was notified by the bank (with a text message), and I quickly fixed the problem
- Applications with 1+ year of ILR are faster processed then EEA applications, which ,I guess, need some additional checks for the residency requirement.
These are my thoughts, do not take it granted. Good luck…
