Since providing biometrics is an extra step that is dependent on you, I would assume the start of the "delay due to UKBA" after the date you provided your biometrics, if they subsequently don't ask you for any more documents.mike_k wrote:Hi gmx, thanks once again! I would assume that so long as you aren't asked to provide any documents other than those which were supplied with the initial application then you would be able to use this rule. However, the document you provided makes it pretty clear that if you were asked to provide more information, or had taken a while to respond to a request then they could argue that any delay was at least in part due to you. Given that (I believe) the application of this rule is up to the discretion of the case-worker then I probably would not risk it if I was asked to provide more stuff (even if the application ended up taking a long time).
I'm guessing that given so many ILR applications appear to be taking much longer than six months, we should be able to find an example of someone using this ruling on the forum - if not in the recent past then probably in the near future...

I would have thought that using the date of biometric enrollment as the date from which to count the 15 months would be a conservative approach to take. From memory they give you two weeks from receipt of the invitation to enroll your biometric data to do so. I would have thought that as long as you do this then you should be ok as you have fully complied with their requests. We applied the same day as we received the letter, so it is difficult to see how they could reasonably argue that we have held up their process.gmx wrote:In my case, we did our biometrics the same day we received the biometrics letter invite, which was more than 4 months ago. Since then, I have not received any further correspondence from them.

What is really required is more information from people who are applying for citizenship using this rule. I am keeping an eye on the citizenship forum to check this. Whereismyilr related an example where (from memory) a friend had his ILR stamped with the date on which his previous leave had expired, which was about one month after he/she applied and about six months prior to him/her receiving his/her passport back. He/she then applied 12 months after the date on the stamp and was successful. Maybe things will be clearer once we receive our ilr (if that day ever arrives...).

you mean, you did not enter the UK legally? that means you do not have enough evidence to prove that you came here in 1998?
Do you have enough bank statements/Bills to cover Almost each month from 1999 until July 2012? If you have enough bank statements, I do not believe the UKBA need to verify anything with your previous bosses.
If you have enough hard evidence, or any compassionate reasons you should appeal. I understand it is a very difficult time, wish you good luck.
You should post your case on this thread, specialized in 14 years cases, some people there are very knowledgeable, could offer you great helps.

Arrrgggggghhhhh! I would love to request the proof that they used to make that statement. Maybe if I am feeling motivated in the next few days this will be my next point of complaint.gmx wrote:Oct-12 stats as of 26-Mar-13 32% had been decided, yet they put this statement clearly in writing:

Do you still trust them?
I am no expert but i think you can apply for Naturalisation on 18/04/2014 (by this time you would have been one year free from immigration control), but you have to make sure that when you are counting back to meet the 5 / 3 years residency criteria, make sure that you were physically present in the UK at that time you have counted back to.balixonline wrote:I wonder if anyone knows about timeline to apply for passport or biritish nationality after receving ILR.
suppose ILR start date is 18/04/2013; when i can apply for nutralization and it may be a stupid question but will i have to pay for nutralization or is it just passport fees ill have to pay.

You will have to apply for Naturalisaton, complete the relevant form and pay the fee at the time, which at the moment is quite close to or a little over a £1000.
After you have received your Naturalisation certificate is when you can apply for a British Passport.
Hope this helps.

Totally Agreed with you Buddy. There are separate threads for all kind of application on this forum so its great idea to use the relevant one as we are all Civilized people and know what to do.mike_k wrote:Arrrgggggghhhhh! Oh and could a moderator please delete/move the threads regarding the 14 years applications. These forums are valuable sources of information for applicants and the correct filing of posts is very useful for everyone. I'd be grateful if the offenders "14yearsintheuk" and "banats" could try and respect the other users by doing this... The first page of this thread also makes it clear that it is for posting timelines as well as information/experiences regarding our ILR applications.
