Hi Niruv,

I am also an EC Applicant just like you so I am telling you my experience, I have already applied for EC from VFS New Delhi.

1) Do we need to make any covering letter for EC? if so what all should i mention.

It is not mandatory, but you can prepare one.
I did mention about all the documents and the explanation of my response to several questions of VAF-1.
I also requested that my Visa validity should start from a month later.

2) I transfered the funds into my account recently. Do i need to have funds in my account for a long time?

Not Sure...of this....
But if you have the salary slips showing decent credits to your salary bank account; It should be alright.
I also sold-off some of my holdings in stock and mutual fund for the purpose of EC..

3) Do we need to carry cash to VFS for EC?.

You can pay it by cash or by DD. Choice is yours!!!
