UKBA is failing to progress the case

Post by thatsok » Tue Mar 26, 2013 6:22 pm

Hi there,
My cousin applied for asylum in May 2012. It`s been already 10 months since then. On UKBA website it says any asylum cases will be concluded within 6 months. UKBA is failing to progress the case. When he contacts UKBA for updates on his case no reasonable explanation has been given for the delay.
Any suggestions to make UKBA end this unlawful delay?
Thank you

Well - firstly what makes you think it's unlawful? UKBA say they will aim to conclude it within 6 months - doesn't make it a legal requirement.

But your best option is to involve your MP.

Local MP actually sent a letter to UKBA on his behalf asking for updates on his case. UKBA is not responding to MP either. Is there any other ways to put pressure on UKBA so they deal with the case more seriously?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Munirabid,

I suggest you to watch “Immigration Undercover” if you have not already done so. It shows clearly what crazy things are going on inside UKBA.

Thanks.

Hi Munira,

His lawyer is trying to push the case to progress. If there is any updates I`ll let you know. On his case at the end of May it will be a year. Can he also apply for permission to work now or it must be exact 12 months?

Thanks

He`s been recently granted permission to work. But he may only undertake employment in occupations specified in shortage occupation list. What about yours, with same condition?

Hi Munira, no updates on his case either. He is too overly stressed waiting for the decision. Thank you for sharing these links. Are you going to do anything to push the case forward? He is discussing with the solicitor in this regard. If any updates I will let you know.
