Visa Granted!!

Post by vikkuboss2001 » Sat May 04, 2013 10:05 am

hey everyone,
just a quick update from my side.
Applied on 22nd Feb in Kolkata.
Visa granted on 26th April and received on 3rd may through blue dart!
Thanks everyone for your much needed help. I was so scared as I did not submit the NARIC certificate and had only submitted the degree certificate and the printout of the PBS point calculator.
I had another query if anyone can answer..
My wife may be coming to london alone. Any idea if they will be taking any xray/medical examination.. anything she can do to make sure it is hassle free immigration when she comes to London?
Thanks again

Hi Vikku,

A quick one- her TB certificate will be required to be shown at the airport. Also, ask her to carry a copy of your passport. In my case I would also carry along my English language test, though it may seem silly.

On and off I have seen other information -but can not recollect at the moment. I have not heard about any medical examination being undertaken at the airport.

And now- this is a good one- once you know it all-post it here to help us all out.

Last but not the least- congratulations!

Good luck and God bless,
Capt. G.D.

How long!!

Post by VandP » Sun May 05, 2013 11:51 pm

submitted to VFS New Delhi on March 11th 2013
Processing with BHC on March 13th 2013
Still no answer.

Am just curious what they can refuse fiance for? My partner is now in India waiting, without a job, and cannot even travel.
We have read so many posts on this forum and all say pretty much the same, that BHC is slow.

We submitted everything to VFS and the guy even checked the paperwork and said it was OK. We are worried a lot of people have been refused and we would like to know on what rounds for the refusal?

And also Delhi BHC only processed around 30 successful settlement visa claims in March. Why such a low number when thousands apply?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Hi V+P,

Stay positive. We did submit our application on the 7th of July 2012- a day before rules were to change.

Our solicitor takes monthly updates- and he keeps saying all is well and that they have all the paperwork they need.

That has not been able to re-assure me enough. (And we do have arguments on this topic- and I moan miserably at times). I can understand what goes on with you two. Yesterday, we had a similar discussion- with me wondering- what more we could have done to expedite!

But then I did get a thought- which may help you. If there were deficiencies- your application would have been thrown out much earlier.

Stay positive- as what you hope is what will happen. Just be patient. I have lost an exceptional job- and source of my living (and prosperity)...and though I do feel it is a set back in personal life- not being with the person u love or having something to keep yourself occupied....there is nothing in the short term that can be done about it. It has to be accepted in the form it is.

Do not think about any back up plans! It will work out...Reiki- power of positive thinking.....

I wonder where you got the number of applicants from. The processing times page gives the entire number of applicants. The applications processed real quick -are most likely outright denials.

Stay here-good news is three of our colleagues have reported receipt of visa just last week end.

Best regards,
GD

Thanks GD for your reply,

in a way it makes sense to know that no answer doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing. As you say, they would have thrown the application out by now if there was anything wrong.

Regarding the applicant numbers, i got this from the UKBA website for visa processing times and in particular for New Delhi. The actual number is 25 successful applicants in the month of March. I thought the number is a bit low, seeming thousands must apply for a fiance or spouse visa.
That said, its pretty consistent every month with the number on average the same. So just unsure on how they class successful and why such a low number.

Anyhow its only really been 36 working days for me and my partner, but seems longer because there were a few public holidays in April.

Will hang in there and just wait i guess. Will update on any news if and when.

thanks

Appeal allowed but how to expedite the process of visa.

Post by shean » Mon May 06, 2013 8:00 pm

My mum visa application to join me here in UK has been refused by ECO in India, and first tribunal too, but our appeal has been allowed in upper Tribunal.

It will minimum take 16 weeks more or less for Home office and UKBA in India to give my mum visa.

Is there any procedure to expedite (speed up) this process, because my mum cannot wait that long due to some security problems for here in there, and her health condition.

Hi K_Karan

We applied at VFS Delhi.. When applying they said that the processing time is 56 days and when we contacted them in April they said that the time has been revised to 58 days. However, we got our visa in 54 days..
