Hi

I just need some advice please.

Currently I am on Tier 1 general visa which was issued in June 2009 for 3 years. I applied for an extention in June 2012 and it was extended for 2 years in December 2012. I got the visa til December 2014.

Now my question is when can I apply for ILR? Can I apply for an ILR in June 2014 when I complete my 5 years in Tier 1 General category OR Do I have to wait til end of my current visa which is December 2014?

When one is right option for me?

Any advice please?

Hello Sanghvi,

You need to consider when you arrived the country (Hope is within 3 months from when visa was granted) and must only apply 28 days before your current visa expires.

You can apply when you meet the requirements, so you don't have to wait until the expiration of your new visa, though you can if you want to.

What were you doing between June 2012 and Dec 2012, is it your application with Home Office?

@uday2509, yes my application was with the Home Office. I posted my application before expiry of initial visa in June 2012 and it was extended in December 2012 which is now valid for 2 years.
