For BC do I have to send my national passport and travel doc

Post by spike_UK » Sat May 11, 2013 1:03 pm

Hi guys, I'm just wondering when I apply for naturalisation, if I have to send my national passport(from my country) and a travel document that was expired a long ago?
The reason I ask because I'm planing to change my full name, I will get the deep poll that I will send to HO with my PR etc.
Thanks a lot.
Applied for EEA4 on 24/02/2012.
HO received on 27/02/2012.
Refusal received on 16/08/2012 dated 11/08/2012
At the court, the HO REP withdrawn the decision and asked me to send the DOC for the time before marriage.
PR dated 05/03/2013

Yes you need.

A deed poll is not a proof of ID. A passport is (with a deed poll in case of a name change). You also need to submit your passport to show you meet the residence requirements (the PR doesn't prove that. It only proves you have PR).

Thanks Jambo, ok I will send my both passports and deed poll, but would it be a problem as the deed poll will be new name and my both passports will remain old name?
I'm just worried if I send them and then they say I have to also change on both passports!
Any more information is appreciated mate, thanks

Patience. It's a Sunday and you only apply in 10 months...

There is no need to get a new passport under the new name. Old passport with deed poll is enough.
