US criminal record

I know, I posted the same for Europe, see what people say about Australia. I was convicted for minor offense and deported from the US - all under slightly different name.
If I apply for Australian residency, and the Australians fingerprint me, will my conviction and deportation come up? Or Australians only check Australian criminal databases?
Appreciate your opinions.
